She has articles on Thomas Carlyle and on Gerard Manley Hopkins and has recently completed a book manuscript called Revealing Bodies: The Grounds of Knowledge in the Long GOSS is Assistant Professor of English at Loyola University Maryland. She is the author of Sentimental Figures of Empire in EighteenthCentury Britain and France (Baltimore, 2006), and co-editor with Daniel Carey of The Postcolonial Enlightenment: Eighteenth-Century Colonialism and Postcolonial Theory (New York, 2009). LYNN FESTA is Associate Professor of English at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. His current critical projects are The Love Revolution, and The Secret History of the History of the Novel. He is most recently the author of The Grateful Slave: The Emergence of Race in Eighteenth-Century British and American Culture (Cambridge, 2008), and is editing the Memoirs on the Life and Travels of Thomas Hammond. BOULUKOS is Associate Professor of English at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Her current research is on masculinity and she has a forthcoming essay on Daniel Defoe's Complete English Tradesman.
